Going through this pandemic has been hard on all of us. It is even harder not being able to have your support system around you. I know for me, that’s wifey, my best friends and family. However, in this age of technology we live in, we have been able to keep in touch with each other on a daily basis. Here’s a few fun ways you can keep in touch with your loved ones.
The HouseParty App is a cool way for friends to come together on one video call.I see more and more people jumping on here on a Friday night. It is also great for kids Birthday parties. If you have a child who’s birthday is coming up, you can arrange a time with his/her friends parents, so they can still feel like they are celebrating. They can play cool games on their like, Quick Draw and Heads up. We did this for my girlfriend’s little cousin and the kids were so into it. They were on there playing charades, singing hapy birthday and all that. If you have a birthday coming up try it, they’ll love it.
My friends and I have been going hard with the 4am Crazy 8s (which we all know is Uno) sessions on the iPhone. You can play up to 6 players. It really gets competitive and you can chat on there too, so all the trash talking and jokes come along with it as well. From stacking draw 4s to changing the color when someone’s down to their last card. On GamePigeon, there’s a whole bunch of other games you can play as well. I also reccomend playing 8Ball and Cup Pong, if there’s only two of you. Keep it friendly.
We’re Not Really Strangers
This one is for couples who are apart right now. My girlfriend bought this game online and we played on FaceTime. The game comes with a bunch of questions you have to ask each other, the only rule is, you have to answer with the frist thing that comes to mind. No thinking, just pure honesty. It’s a great game if you want to set up a little FaceTime date with your significant other. It allows you to open up and share things you might have been bottling up. Some questions were funny while others some turned into deep conversation. We really enjoyed it. Couples, let me know how it oges for you. Please don’t fight.
To my all artist frineds who can create music from home, use this time to work with friends you have met through the music. Learn from each other, yesterday I was on a video call with Shana|Lana, and we shared mixing tips, sent each other songs we need vocals on, and we came up with ideas for new music. Take this time to build together. Send over that verse you owe your friend, that beat you have been sitting on, or that chorus idea you can’t come up with anything else for. Whatever the case may be, just create, share and learn from one another.
