KB – No Chains

KB has always been one of my favorite artists, so seeing him announce he will not be renewing his contract with Reach Records was like Hulk Hogan switching over to WCW in the 90’s. After coming off a classic album people have been anxiously waiting for KB’s new project. So this move is going to make his album even crazier. I think this is great for christian community. Yes, Reach Records has become a label young christian artists dream of being a part of one day. But when someone with the cultural impact KB has on the community, it creates more labels and platforms where christian artists can excell. Giving us more options and outlets where we can recieve quality chrisitan music. The future looks bright.

The reason why I love KB is his music has always been Christ centered and powerful. He has given us pure masterpieces but always pointed to God. You never doubt who he is doing it for. And that has always been KB, putting Jesus before everything. Those are the type of artists we need to guide the next generation, not only in the music industry but in the community. They put up the wall and we go through it.

When sorrows falling down like rain

When I can hardly take the pain

I will lift up my voice to You

KB – Sing to You

On a personal note, “The Art of Hope” and “Sing to You” have brought me through dark and hard times. KB makes music for men trying to be great husbands, great fathers, & great men of God. Exposing his pain and his fears showing us we’re not alone. As men we’re suppose to be strong but we fall, we fail, we break down. But KB shows us in Christ we can get back up. As artists we have a responsibility to create music that molds great men and women, and not many artist are doing that. KB has never been affraid to take it there, his music has always been on the front line. The Rebel.

Praying for God to bless KB in his new chapter, and that he continues to lift up the name of Jesus.
